"First, We Fall" an Album By Carrington Kelso

First, We Fall

If it’s just one night, or forever, baby no pressure. I want your hands inside of mine. -Carrington Kelso

“First, We Fall“ is a story about love, lust and everything in between. . Love is such a mysterious force in the Universe. It brings out the best in us, and sometimes the worst. This album was written from a place of personal experience as Queer love is rarely the focus of music; and when it is it is often from a place of shame or unrequited love.

When Carrington Kelso was writing “First, We Fall”, he wanted to express the lust of seeing someone at the club and wanting to be with them; if for a night or for the rest of your life. He wanted to talk about sex as a means of liberation and beauty. He wanted to be 1000% free and I could not be more proud of how this project turned out.

The goal is that you see yourself reflected in this project!

Kelso began writing the album shortly after “Baptize Me“, but he was missing experiences that bring authenticity to the music. He needed to live life and between those two albums he did just that. In 2018, he gets into his first relationship and that opens the creative floodgates.

The album starts with Can We Talk : A mid tempo RnB record that sets the tone for the entire project. This track pay homage to the legendary track with the same name; “Can We Talk“ by Tevin Campbell . It explores themes of lust and attraction, specifically through a queer lens with the goal of liberating any and everyone who hears it.

For anyone who's ever fallen in love, you know that it is a whirlwind and I just happen to capture my storm in an album. "First, We Fall" is the rose colored glasses of your first love. I hope you enjoy the ride!
